Warrant Officer Sathyarajan Commended for Exceptional Bravery
Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal Bandu Edirisinghe, commended Warrant Officer N.Sathyarajan of the Air Communicator Trade on 26 September 2025 at Air Force Headquarters, Sri Jayewardenepura, for his extraordinary act of bravery.
Warrant Officer Sathyarajan was the first to voluntarily descend into a deep ravine at great personal risk to rescue numerous casualties trapped within the wreckage during the tragic bus accident at Ravana Falls on 04 September 2025.
In recognition of this selfless and courageous act, he was promoted from the rank of Flight Sergeant to Warrant Officer. Air Vice Marshal Asitha Hettiarachchi, Director General Electronics and Computer Engineering, also attended this graceful event.
