SLAF BASE HINGURAKGODA PRE-SCHOOL EXPANDS WITH NEW CLASSROOM BUILDING
The SLAF Base Hingurakgoda Pre-School marked a significant step forward today (13 October 2025) with the foundation stone laying for a new classroom building, held under the patronage of the Base Commander, Air Commodore SD Jayaweera.
The event was graced by the officers, other rankers, all Pre- School teachers along with kids, making a pivotal step towards enhancing the quality of Pre - School education.
Due to the outstanding reputation and high standard of service maintained by the Pre-School, student enrollment has gradually increased over the years. The existing Pre-School, comprising seven classrooms with a capacity of approximately 130 students, has now reached its maximum limit. In response to this growing demand, two new classrooms are being constructed to provide additional space for more children and to further enhance the learning environment of this institution.
The new initiative is expected to significantly strengthen the early childhood education infrastructure at SLAF Base Hingurakgoda, providing improved facilities for the children of SLAF personnel and promoting their holistic development in a nurturing environment.
