SLAF BAND ENHANCES MUSICAL SKILLS THROUGH WORKSHOP WITH AMERICAN MUSICIAN
One day music workshop was successfully held recently at the Air Force Headquarters, conducted by renowned American Musician, Mr. Allan Scott. The workshop, organized specifically for the music tradesman of the Performing Arts Division, was aimed at enhancing their exposure to international standards in Rock and Jazz music.
Mr. Allan Scott who has extensive experience in performance, music education and working with military and civilians band, led the workshop with a dynamic mix of practical session. His instructions focused on advance instrumental techniques assemble performance, tone development, rhythm accuracy and musical expression. Participants were also introduced to new methods in rehearsal efficiency, band arrangement and stage presence.
This initiative was made possible with the guidance and support of the Chief of Staff, Air Vice Marshal Lasitha Sumanaweera. Their encouragement plays a vital role in uplifting the standards of Rock and Jazz music within the SLAF.
