NACWC SUCCESSFULLY CONDUCTS ASSISTANCE AND PROTECTION BASIC COURSE AT SLAF BASE KATUNAYAKE
The Assistance and Protection Basic Course, organized by the National Authority for the Implementation of the Chemical Weapons Convention (NACWC) Sri Lanka, was successfully conducted at the No. 49 CBRNE Wing, SLAF Base Katunayake. The programme commenced on 13 October 2025 and concluded successfully yesterday (17 October 2025).
The No. 49 CBRNE Wing had the honour of hosting the event, which was attended by 20 participants representing the Tri Forces, Special Task Force (STF), Sri Lanka Ports Fire Brigade, and the Colombo Fire Brigade. Officers from the Wing conducted a series of lectures and practical training sessions throughout the course, enhancing participants’ knowledge and operational readiness in CBRNE response and protection.
The opening ceremony was graced by the Director of NACWC, Air Vice Marshal Shehan Wijenayake, who attended as the Chief Guest and delivered the opening remarks. The Base Commander of SLAF Base Katunayake, Air Commodore Asela Jayasekera, also graced the occasion.
The closing ceremony was held under the patronage of Air Vice Marshal Shehan Wijenayake and the Deputy Base Commander of SLAF Base Katunayake.
