IAU CONDUCTS AWARENESS PROGRAMME ON INSTITUTIONAL INTEGRITY AND ACCOUNTABILITY

The SLAF Internal Affairs Unit (IAU) successfully conducted another Awareness Programme on 24 October 2025 at Air Force Headquarters. The programme was attended physically by IAU members from Air Force Headquarters, while representatives from the Academy, Bases, and Stations participated remotely via Zoom.

The session was conducted under the guidance of Head of the IAU, Air Vice Marshal Deshapriya Silva, and focused on the strategic importance of institutional integrity and accountability. Air Vice Marshal Silva highlighted the mandatory implementation of the IAU Action Plan 2025, developed in alignment with the national Anti-Corruption Initiative Assessment (AIA) framework, and emphasized the importance of strengthening a culture of ethical conduct and shared responsibility across the organization.

The event featured comprehensive presentations by outlining the mandate, statutory responsibilities and institutional obligations under the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption Act, No. 9 of 2023. The session also included detailed briefings on the Corruption Risk Assessment (CRA) and Institutional Action Plan (IAP) 2025, designed to strengthen preventive controls and enhance oversight mechanisms across SLAF establishments. Additionally, the operational launch of the IAU Monitor digital platform, verified by the Presidential Secretariat, and the introduction of a forthcoming Complaint QR Code were announced, marking a significant step towards more transparent and efficient reporting.
