The Inter Unit Practical Rifle Meet 2025 was conducted from 26 to 30 October 2025 at the SLAF Regiment Training Centre, Ampara. The Awarding Ceremony was held at the firing range premises with the gracious presence of the Director General Ground Operations, President of the National Rifle Association of Sri Lanka and Chairman of the SLAF Shooting Air Vice Marshal Ruwan Chandima as the Chief Guest. Further, the Commanding Officer of SLAF Regiment Training Centre Ampara, Group Captain Lalith Sugathasdasa, Secretary SLAF Shooting, Squadron Leader Manoj Wijewickrama and other senior officers were also present to witness the event.

In the competition, SLAF Base Anuradhapura emerged as the Men’s Champions, while SLAF Station Palaly claimed the Women’s Championship. SLAF Regiment Training Centre Ampara and SLAF Academy China Bay secured the first and second runner-up positions in the Men’s category, whereas in the Women’s category, SLAF Regiment Training Centre Ampara and SLAF Academy China Bay achieved the first and second runner-up positions respectively.

Highlighting individual performances, Flight Sergeant Wickramasinghe MAPR from SLAF Base Anuradhapura was secured the ‘Best All-Round Men’s Shooter’, while Corporal Indeewari DAA from SLAF Academy China Bay was crowned the ‘Best All-Round Women’s Shooter’. The title of ‘Best All-Round Officer’ was awarded to Squadron Leader SSKSNB Rathnayake of SLAF Base Anuradhapura.
