In parallel with World Children’s Day 2025, which fell on 01 October 2025, the SLAF Seva Vanitha Unit organized the ‘Guwan Randaru Siththam’ Art Competition for the children of Air Force service personnel. The event aimed to encourage creativity and artistic expression among the children of the SLAF family.

A total of 314 children participated in the competition, and winners were selected from each age category by eminent artists in contemporary Sri Lankan society, Mrs. DUS Gunasena and Mr. WDRI Wijethunga. The prize-giving ceremony was held today (31 October 2025) at the Air Force Headquarters.

The Chairperson of the SLAF Seva Vanitha Unit, Mrs. Krishanthi Edirisinghe, graced the occasion together with the Air Secretary, Air Commodore Priyamal Fernando and the Secretary Seva Vanitha Unit, Wing Commander Lilangi Randeni. Members of the SLAF Seva Vanitha Unit and parents of the participants were also present to witness the event.
