COMMANDER’S INSPECTION OF SLAF BASE RATMALANA
The Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal Bandu Edirisinghe, conducted the Commander's Inspection of SLAF Base Ratmalana today (09 November 2025).
The Commander reviewed the Commander’s Inspection Parade commanded by the Base Commander of SLAF Base Ratmalana, Air Commodore Amitha Jayamaha and awarded Certificates of Commendation to the following service personnel in recognition of their outstanding contributions made to the SLAF.

During the inspection, the Commander visited all areas of the Base, including the Base Headquarters and all lodger formations.
Following the inspection, the Commander addressed all ranks and civilian personnel at the No. 8 Squadron Hangar. During his address, the emphasized the fact that the Ratmalana Base being the largest in the SLAF plays a vital role in the SLAF's operational and administrative capabilities. Furthermore, he stated that every member must strive to contribute 100% with unwavering professional Excellence, Integrity and Discipline, in order to ensure the pursuit of excellence in all what we do within the context of the professional Air Force. Finally, the Commander commended the Base Commander and his team for their hard work in preparing the Base to the standard required for the Commander’s Inspection.
