SLAF STRENGTHENS INSTITUTIONAL INTEGRITY THROUGH SUCCESSFUL ANTI-CORRUPTION ASSESSMENT

The SLAF has successfully completed the Anti-Corruption Initiative Assessment (AIA) carried out by a team of four officers from KPMG, one of the world’s leading professional services and auditing firms. The assessment was conducted under the supervision of the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC) as part of the National Anti-Corruption Action Plan (NACAP) 2025–2029.

The official site visit took place on 07 November 2025 at the Air Force Headquarters and was led by Mr. Damien Fernando representing KPMG.

During the visit, the assessment team evaluated the SLAF’s progress in implementing preventive anti-corruption measures, institutional integrity mechanisms, and compliance with the Anti-Corruption Act, No. 9 of 2023. The evaluators also conducted interviews with a cross-section of SLAF personnel and external stakeholders visiting Air Force Headquarters to gather comprehensive feedback on the institution’s integrity and transparency practices.

The assessment was conducted under the overall direction of the Commander of the Air Force, while the Internal Affairs Unit (IAU), headed by Air Vice Marshal Deshapriya Silva, coordinated the visit and ensured the active participation of all relevant directorates, divisions and staff.

Sri Lanka Air Force stands as the sole gallant aerial force in the nation, skillfully projecting airpower over its airspace and supporting the operations of surface entities.
