In recognition of outstanding performances at International Carrom tournaments, Aircraftman Shaheed MHM and Leading Aircraftwoman Peiris MHM have been promoted to the rank of Acting Corporal by the Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal Bandu Edirisinghe, today (13 November 2025).

Aircraftman Shaheed MHM achieved a remarkable No. 6 ranking in the world. At the 6th Carrom World Cup 2024 held in San Francisco, USA, he won a Silver medal in the Men’s Team event and a Bronze medal in the Men’s Doubles event, contributing significantly to the success of the Sri Lanka National Carrom Team.

Leading Aircraftwoman Peiris MHM also distinguished herself in international competitions. At the 6th Asian Carrom Championship 2024, she won a Silver medal in the Women’s Team event. At the 6th Carrom World Cup 2024 in the USA, she secured a Silver medal in the Women’s Team event and a Bronze medal in the Women’s Doubles event.
