NO. 04 COURSE OF NATIONAL DEFENCE COLLEGE GRADUATION CONCLUDES IN A SUCCESSFUL NOTE
The Graduation Ceremony of the prestigious National Defence College (NDC) Course No. 04 was held today (27 November 2025) at the Faculty of Graduate Studies Auditorium of General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University. The Deputy Minister of Defence, Major General Aruna Jayasekara (Retd), graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. He was received by the Commandant of the National Defence College, Major General Chamila Munasinghe.
Course No. 04 of National Security and Strategic Studies (NS&SS) commenced on 15 January 2025, and a total of 41 officers representing the Sri Lanka Army, Navy, Air Force, Police, along with 10 officers from foreign nations, graduated upon the successful completion of the year-long programme, earning the qualification of the National Defence Course with the post-nominal ndc. Parchments were conferred on all accredited graduates during the ceremony.
The Chief of Staff of the SLAF, Air Vice Marshal Lasitha Sumanaweera, also participated in the event. In addition, officials from the Ministry of Defence, members of the diplomatic corps, former commanders, the Vice Chancellor of General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University, members of the NDC Board of Management, members of the academia, senior officers of the Tri-Services and Police, as well as spouses of the graduates, attended the ceremony.
