SLAF RECEIVES MEDICAL AND RELIEF SUPPLIES TO SUPPORT ONGOING HUMANITARIAN OPERATIONS

In support of the ongoing humanitarian relief efforts, SOS Children’s Villages Sri Lanka, together with singer Umariya Sinhawansa, made a donation of medical supplies and essential relief items to the Sri Lanka Air Force today (12 December 2025) at Air Force Headquarters. The consignment was also supported by former Sri Lankan cricketer Roshan Mahanama. The former Chief of Staff of the Sri Lanka Air Force, Air Vice Marshal Sampath Wickramarathna (Retd), was present on the occasion.

The donation will assist the SLAF’s emergency medical and humanitarian relief operations being carried out for communities affected by recent floods and landslides across the island. The consignment comprised urgently required medical items along with several essential household relief supplies.

The official handover of the medical supplies was carried out by Ms. Umariya Sinhawansa and representatives of SOS Children’s Villages Sri Lanka, who presented the consignment to the Director General Health Services, Air Vice Marshal (Dr.) Lalith Jayaweera.

Senior officers and staff of the Directorate of Health Services of the Sri Lanka Air Force were present for the event.

Sri Lanka Air Force stands as the sole gallant aerial force in the nation, skillfully projecting airpower over its airspace and supporting the operations of surface entities.
