USA INDO-PACIFIC COMMAND TEAMS CONCLUDE RELIEF SUPPORT IN SRI LANKA

Personnel from the United States Indo-Pacific Command (INDOPACOM) have completed their humanitarian support mission in Sri Lanka following Cyclone Ditwah relief operations. They departed aboard a United States Air Force C 130 aircraft from SLAF Base Katunayake today (14 December 2025).

During their deployment, the teams coordinated closely with SLAF air operations to assist in the transport and delivery of relief supplies to affected areas.

Representing the SLAF at the departure ceremony were senior Air Force officers, including the Chief of Staff of the SLAF, Air Vice Marshal Lasitha Sumanaweera,  who thanked the teams on behalf of the SLAF for their support.

The assistance provided by the USA teams supported ongoing relief operations and demonstrated effective coordination between SLAF and international partners in response to Cyclone Ditwah.

Sri Lanka Air Force stands as the sole gallant aerial force in the nation, skillfully projecting airpower over its airspace and supporting the operations of surface entities.
