A house constructed under the SLAF Seva Vanitha Unit welfare initiative was handed over to the family of Mrs. IS Dharmadasa, a civil staff member of the SLAF, during a housewarming ceremony held at Mahapaladikulama, Anuradhapura yesterday (15 December 2025).

The Chairperson of the SLAF Seva Vanitha Unit, Mrs. Krishanthi Edirisinghe, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest, marking another meaningful step in the Unit’s ongoing commitment to uplifting the living standards of SLAF personnel and civil staff.

The project was fully funded by the SLAF Seva Vanitha Unit, while construction was carried out by the Civil Engineering Wing of SLAF Base Katunayake. The initiative was implemented under the guidance of the Director General Constructions Engineering, Air Vice Marshal Vajira Senadheera, and supervised by the Base Commander of SLAF Base Anuradhapura, Air Commodore Pradeep Piyarathne.

The event was attended by the Director General Welfare, Air Vice Marshal Rajinth Jayawardena, Director Civil Administration, Mrs H.H.M. Priyangani Hewarathna, Director Ranaviru Welfare, Group Captain Dayan Sumanasekara, Secretary of the SLAF Seva Vanitha Unit, Wing Commander Lilangi Randeni along with members of the SLAF Seva Vanitha Unit, officers and other rankers of SLAF Base Anuradhapura.
