BREAST CANCER AWARENESS PROGRAMME HELD AT SLAF TRADE TRAINING SCHOOL EKALA
A Breast Cancer Awareness Programme was conducted at SLAF Trade Training School, Ekala, yesterday (15 December 2025), with the objective of enhancing awareness on breast cancer and promoting early detection and prevention.
The programme was attended by the President of the SLAF Seva Vanitha Unit, Mrs Bhagya Thilakarathne, along with members of the Seva Vanitha Unit, lady officers and airwomen.
The awareness session was conducted by Dr Roshini Perera, Medical Officer of Health, Ja-Ela, together with her team. The session covered key aspects of breast cancer, including early warning signs, preventive measures and the importance of seeking timely medical attention. Special attention was given to educating participants on proper breast self-examination techniques, enabling them to identify potential concerns at an early stage.
The programme was informative and interactive, contributing positively towards strengthening health awareness among participants and underscoring the importance of preventive healthcare within the SLAF community.
