NEW AIR SCOUTS AWARDED MEMBERSHIP BADGES AT CEREMONIAL INDUCTION AT GUWANPURA
The membership badges of newly enlisted Air Scouts were ceremonially awarded today (23 December 2025) at the Air Scout Headquarters, Sri Lanka Air Force Guwanpura, marking an important milestone in their scouting journey.
The event was graced by the Director General Ground Operations, Air Vice Marshal Ruwan Chandima, as the Chief Guest. Also present were the Chairman SLAF Air Scout Group, Group Captain Paminda Jayawardena, Deputy Chairman SLAF Air Scout Group, Air Commodore ES Ponnamperuma, Assistant District Commissioner Girls in Scouting, Dr. Mrs. Indika Vidanagamage, Assistant District Commissioner Cubs Scouting, Mr. Miral Ariyapala, Former Presidents of the Air Scout Group, Mr. Rohitha Stainwall and Flying Officer RSMN Wijerathna, along with Air Scout Masters and other distinguished invitees.
The ceremony symbolized the formal induction of the new Air Scouts into the movement, underscoring the values of discipline, leadership, teamwork and service to the nation. The occasion also reaffirmed the Sri Lanka Air Force’s continued commitment to nurturing and developing youth through the Air Scout movement, in line with its broader vision of nation building and character development among future generations.
