The Change of Command of the Air Defence Gunnery Training School at SLAF Station Iranamadu took place today (29 December 2025). The traditional Handing Over and Taking Over Parade was held at the school premises, during which the outgoing Commanding Officer, Squadron Leader BMPI Balasooriya MSc (Mil Tech), BA (Def Stu), formally handed over command to Squadron Leader IC Ipalawaththage.

Squadron Leader Balasooriya will proceed to assume duties as the Commanding Officer of No. 29 Regiment Wing at SLAF Station Batticaloa.

The newly appointed Commanding Officer, Squadron Leader Ipalawaththage, previously served as the Officer Commanding No. 324 LBAD Squadron at SLAF Base Ratmalana, prior to his appointment as the Commanding Officer of the Air Defence Gunnery Training School at SLAF Station Iranamadu.
