SLAF SUPPORTS TWO-DAY MEDICAL CAMPAIGN IN MANNAR WITH REGIONAL HEALTH PARTNERS
The SLAF conducted a two-day medical outreach programme on 30 and 31 December 2025 at Unit 03 – Public Hall, Manich Farm, Settikulum (Mannar Road) and Unit 04 – GS Office, Varikutiyur. The programme was held under the guidance of the Director General of Health Services to provide basic healthcare services to residents in the Mannar area.
The programme was coordinated by the Base Commander of SLAF Base Vavuniya, Air Commodore Asela Kuruwita, with support from the Director of Medical Services, Air Commodore Niluka Abeysekara, along with SLAF medical officers, nursing staff and service personnel.
Medical services offered included general consultations, laboratory investigations, pharmacy support, and specialized clinics for patients with diverse medical needs. Over the two days, 550 individuals received medical assistance.
Regional health authorities collaborated with SLAF personnel to ensure the programme ran efficiently. Patient registration, diagnostic procedures, and distribution of prescribed medication were carried out in an organized manner.
