CHANGE OF COMMAND AT SLAF STATION MORAWEWA

The change of command at SLAF Station Morawewa took place today (07 January 2026) with a traditional handing over/ taking over parade at the station parade ground.  The outgoing Commanding Officer, Group Captain PS Alexander USP, MSc (Security & Strategic Studies), Pg Dip (Defence Management), Pg Dip (International Relations), Justice of Peace, psc handed over the command to Group Captain NP Perera RWP.

Group Captain Alexander, will proceed to assume duties as the Commanding Officer of SLAF Parachute Training School, Ampara. The new Commanding Officer, Group Captain Perera previously served as the Commanding Officer of SLAF Station Bandaranaike International Airport, before being appointed as the Commanding Officer of SLAF Station Morawewa.
