EXTENDING CARE THROUGH A SPECIAL WHEELCHAIR DONATION
A special donation programme was held yesterday (08 January 2026) at SLAF Headquarters, during which two commode wheelchairs were donated to the SLAF Seva Vanitha Unit by Mrs. Dilma Ranathunga and her family, with the participation of Mr. Malith Sumanasekara.
The event was conducted with the gracious presence of the Chairperson of the SLAF Seva Vanitha Unit, Mrs. Krishnathi Edirisinghe, who appreciated the contribution made in support of the welfare initiatives of the Unit.
In addition, two commode wheelchairs and one standard wheelchair were handed over to three deserving service personnel, Warrant Officer KHWSK Jayarathne, Corporal Sanjanie HHT and Leading Aircraftman Sampath DACA, for the use of their needy parents.
The programme was attended by the Air Secretary, Air Commodore Priyamal Fernando, the Director Ranaviru Welfare, Group Captain Dayan Sumanasekara, the Secretary of the SLAF Seva Vanitha Unit, Wing Commander Lilangi Randeni, along with officers and other ranks of the SLAF Seva Vanitha Unit.
