89th National Athletic Championships – 2011

Medal Record Taken a step further
Sri Lanka Air Force athletes ran the few extra miles requied to bag more medals in the 89th National Athletic Championship 2011 held at the Mahinda Rajapaksha international Sports Complex Diyagama on 06th, 07th & 08th August 2011.
The SLAF athletes displayed their talents and were rewarded with 11 Golds which exceeded last years total whilst the counts for other medals were 10 Silver and 11 Bronze with a total of 32.
Sports Minister Mahindananda Aluthgama graced the event as the Chief Guest whilst the President of the Athletic Association of Sri Lanka Major General Palitha Fernando was also present.
Over 700 athletes participated at the meet. The records created by the SLAF and the trophies awarded are as follows
