11TH SRI AVIATION CONTINGENT OF MINUSCA CELEBRATES 78TH INDEPENDENCE DAY
The 11th Sri Lanka Aviation Contingent deployed in the Central African Republic commemorated the 78th Independence Day of Sri Lanka yesterday (04 February 2026) with due pride and dignity. To mark the event, a ceremonial parade was conducted with the participation of all contingent members. The parade was commanded by Wing Commander MNRS Gunawardane and inspected by the Contingent Commander, Group Captain AR Pathirage.
Following the parade, an all-ranks breakfast was held, and an Agro Project was initiated within the contingent premises, highlighting the importance of agriculture in promoting self-reliance, sustainability and food security.
On the occasion, the Force Commander of MINUSCA, Lieutenant General Humphrey Nyone, extended his Independence Day wishes and expressed appreciation for the professionalism, dedication and continued support of the Sri Lanka Aviation Contingent in the execution of the MINUSCA mandate.
