A donation programme to distribute school accessories to children affected by the recent natural disaster ‘Dithwa’ was successfully conducted today (05 February 2026) by SLAF Station Piduruthalagala in collaboration with an external donor at Nuwara Eliya. 

Further, the initiative was organized with the objective of supporting the educational requirements of students who were adversely impacted by the disaster and to alleviate the difficulties faced by their families during the recovery period. 

Furthermore, the programme covered several schools in the Nuwara Eliya area namely Gemunu Vidyalaya Seetha Eliya, Srimath James Peiris Vidyalaya Nuwara Eliya and Girls’ High School Nuwara Eliya. Essential school accessories and educational materials were distributed among the students to ensure the continuity of their studies and to restore their morale.
