SLAF DANCE TROUPE PERFORMS AT SRI LANKA’S 78TH INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATION IN BANGKOK
The Embassy Sri Lanka in Bangkok celebrated the 78th Anniversary of the Independence of Sri Lanka on 23 February 2026 at the Hyatt Regency Bangkok Sukhumvit.
The event was attended by the Minister of Industry and Entrepreneurship Development of Sri Lanka, Hon. Sunil Handunneththi and the Minister of Culture of Thailand, Hon. Sabeeda Thaised who participated as Chief Guests. Representatives of the Royal Thai Government, members of the diplomatic community and invited guests were also present.
The Sri Lanka Air Force Dance Troupe performed at the event representing Sri Lanka’s cultural traditions. The troupe was led by Squadron Leader SGK Anuruddhika.
During the visit, the troupe also met the Ambassador of Sri Lanka to Thailand, Her Excellency Wijayanthi Edirisinghe and conveyed their appreciation for the opportunity extended to the SLAF Dance Troupe to participate in the event.
