SLAF Flies With Caltex Rugby League 2011 Plate Championship

Sri Lanka Air Force Rugby team scored their second consecutive victory beating CH & FC comprehensively 46 to 07 points in the Caltex Rugby League today (12 August 2011) at theSri Lanka Air force Base Katunayake grounds.
The SLAF team displayed their dominance right throughout the game, leaving their opponents no opportunity to pose any challenge during the entire game. SLAF scored 22 points against the single goal scored by Indika Wickramanayake for Ch. Radhika Hettiarachchi initiated the first goal followed by two tries by Mithun Hapugodage and one by Asanka Thalagalaarachchi.
The second half was also dominated by the SLAF and not a slightest chance or hope was given to the visitors to score. Mithun Hapugodage displayed great sportsmanship in the first half and also made three tries in the second from which Radhika Hettiarachchi converted two whilst Charith Senavirathna also came into action recording another try for the airmen.
At the final whistle, SLAF had won the match with a massive margin (46 – 07 points) and moved ahead in the second round points table to clinch the Plate Championship. Furthermore SLAF has recorded the most number of points and also the most number of tries in the entire tournament than any other competitor.
The Chairman SLAF rugby as well as the Commanding Officer of SLAF Station Colombo witnessed the last match of the Caltex Rugby League 2011.
