ANNUAL COMMANDER’S INSPECTION AT SLAF STATION IRANAMADU

The Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal Bandu Edirisinghe, conducted the Annual Commander’s Inspection at SLAF Station Iranamadu today (27 March 2026). The Commander was received by the Commanding Officer, Group Captain Jayarathna Amarasinghe, where a ceremonial street lining was accorded upon Commander’s arrival to the SLAF Station Iranamadu.

During the inspection, the Commander visited all areas including Station Headquarters and awarded Certificates of Commendation to Sergeant Wimalarathna KHPT (Tele Communication (Sp 1) and Civil Mr. SCNR Chandrasiri for their outstanding contributions made to the SLAF Station Iranamadu.

Furthermore, the Commander addressed all ranks of the Station after the inspection. During the address, the Commander emphasized the Air Force is presently aspiring to move forward in the field of new technology, and that the necessary measures have already been initiated to attain a higher technological standard and enhanced Air Power by the end of this year, in light of prevailing global war situation and the resulting economic and energy-related challenges experienced in our country. All concerned are hereby remained to utilize available resources be with utmost care and frugality to implement the necessary measures to effectively address these difficulties. 

Moreover, the Commander appreciated to the Commanding Officer, other officers and all service personnel for their dedication and for the successful conduct of the Annual Commander’s Inspection.
