RUSSIAN AIR DEFENCE DELEGATION VISITS SLAF STATION WEERAWILA
A delegation from the Military Air Defence Academy of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation paid an official visit to the No.03 Air Defence Radar Squadron at Sri Lanka Air Force Station Weerawila yesterday (24 April 2026).
The delegation was led by Lieutenant General Gleb V. Eremin accompanied by four other Senior Russian Military Officers. Upon their arrival, the group was warmly received by the Commanding Officer of SLAF Station Weerawila, Group Captain Nalaka Wanasinghe and the Commanding Officer of the No. 3 Air Defence Radar Squadron, Wing Commander WDEH Walpita. This visit served as a significant occasion to strengthen the professional relationship and long-standing friendship between the two military forces through formal interactions at the station.
