NO 61 HELICOPTER FLIGHT AT SLAF BASE RATMALANA MARKS 13TH ANNIVERSARY

The No. 61 Helicopter Flight at SLAF Base Ratmalana celebrated its 13th anniversary today (06 May 2026) with a series of commemorative events. The celebrations commenced with a Civil-Military Cooperation (CIMIC) activity conducted at the Sri Piyarathanaaramaya Temple, Ratmalana, under the guidance of the Flight Commander, Wing Commander ISB Thibbotumunuwe.

The customary Working Parade was subsequently held at the No. 61 Helicopter Flight hangar premises, with the participation of officers, airmen, airwomen and civilian personnel of the flight. The day’s events concluded with a friendly cricket tournament held at the Base cricket ground, raising cohesion and team spirit among all ranks.

Sri Lanka Air Force stands as the sole gallant aerial force in the nation, skillfully projecting airpower over its airspace and supporting the operations of surface entities.
