SLAF BASE HINGURAKGODA ENHANCES PRE-SCHOOL FACILITIES WITH NEW CLASSROOM BUILDING
A newly constructed two-classroom building at the Pre-School of SLAF Base Hingurakgoda was declared open during a ceremony held today (04 June 2026). The occasion was graced by the Base Commander of SLAF Base Hingurakgoda, Air Commodore Sanoj Jayaratne.
The Pre-School of SLAF Base Hingurakgoda currently accommodates 138 children and is among the largest pre-schools within the Sri Lanka Air Force. The institution presently consists of three Lower Kindergarten (LKG) and four Upper Kindergarten (UKG) classrooms. The newly constructed building comprises two additional UKG classrooms, further enhancing the facilities available for early childhood education.
The project was undertaken with the objective of improving the learning environment and supporting the educational needs of the children of SLAF personnel and the local community.
The ceremony was attended by officers, members of the construction team, pre-school teachers and children.
