ANNUAL COMMANDER’S INSPECTION AT SLAF BASE HINGURAKGODA
The Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal Bandu Edirisinghe, conducted the Annual Commander’s Inspection at SLAF Base Hingurakgoda today (09 June 2026).
The Base Commander SLAF Base Hingurakgoda, Air Commodore Sanoj Jayaratne, welcomed the Commander upon his arrival. A street line was accorded in honour of the Commander, together with the Air Force Standard.
During the course of the inspection the Commander visited all areas of the Base including Station Headquarters, Hospital, Electronics section, Gymnasium, Pre School, Uniform Outfitters Section, Main Guard Room, Equipment section, No 2 Supply & Maintenance Depot, Warrant Officers’ and Senior Non Commissioned Officers’ Mess, Airmen's & Airwomen's Social Club, Corporal's Social Club, Airmen’s and Airwomen’s Mess, Runway Project, No 7 and 9 Helicopter Squadrons, Armoury, K9 Section, MT Section, No.25 Regiment Wing, Welfare Shop, Clipper Salon, Officers Mess and joined a cross-section of officers, other ranks and civilian staff at the Airmen’s Mess for the customary all-ranks refreshments.
Furthermore, eight service personnel received certificates of commendation from the Commander in recognition of their meritorious service to the SLAF.
