CIVIL ENGINEERING WING AT SLAF BASE KATUNAYAKE CELEBRATES 23RD ANNIVERSARY
The Civil Engineering Wing of SLAF Base Katunayake celebrated its 23rd Anniversary yesterday (13 June 2026). Since its establishment, the Wing has played a significant role in supporting the infrastructure development requirements of the Sri Lanka Air Force through the execution of construction, renovation and development projects undertaken in accordance with directives from Air Force Headquarters.
In conjunction with the anniversary, the Wing conducted a Community Service Programme at the Vocational Training Institute, Seeduwa. As part of the programme, the Wing undertook the renovation of the institute’s dining hall building and hosted a lunch for the differently abled children of the institute.
As part of the anniversary celebrations, a customary working parade was held and reviewed by the Commanding Officer of the Civil Engineering Wing, Group Captain Dimuthu Ekanayake. A friendly cricket tournament was also organized to mark the occasion, with the participation of officers, airmen airwomen and civilian staff. The anniversary celebrations concluded with an all-ranks lunch.
