AIR FIELD CONSTRUCTION WING AT SLAF BASE RATMALANA CELEBRATES 17TH ANNIVERSARY
The Air Field Construction Wing at SLAF Base Ratmalana celebrated its 17th anniversary yesterday (20 June 2026) which was commenced with a customary working parade reviewed by the Commanding Officer of the Air Field Construction Wing, Group Captain Kapila De Silva. Moreover, the sports activities were also organized with the participation of all members of the Wing.
In parallel to the celebration, a Community Service project was carried out at S De S Jayasinghe Central College, Dehiwala. Service personnel of the wing carried out renovation work of school buildings followed by a “Sramadhana” campaign
The Air Field Construction Wing is established for the purpose of centrally coordinating and maintaining all operational platforms (airfields) to facilitate the decentralized operation of multifaceted SLAF aircraft and the operational surfaces for optimal operational efficiency at all times, as planned by the Air Force Headquarters.
