COMMANDER OF THE SRI LANKA NAVY PAYS FAREWELL CALL ON THE COMMANDER OF THE AIR FORCE

The Commander of the Sri Lanka Navy, Vice Admiral Kanchana Banagoda, paid a farewell call on the Commander of the Sri Lanka Air Force, Air Marshal Bandu Edirisinghe, at Air Force Headquarters today (26 June 2026).

Upon his arrival at Air Force Headquarters, Vice Admiral Banagoda was received by the Deputy Commanding Officer of SLAF Station Sri Jayewardenepura, Group Captain Chamila Manathunga. Thereafter, he was accorded a Guard of Honour by the SLAF Colour Wing.

During the ensuing meeting, the Air Force Commander thanked Vice Admiral Banagoda for his dedicated service to the nation and for the cooperation extended to the Sri Lanka Air Force during his tenure as the 26th Commander of the Sri Lanka Navy. He also appreciated the close working relationship maintained between the two Services in support of national security.

The Air Force Commander extended his best wishes to Vice Admiral Banagoda in his future endeavours and thanked him for his valuable service to the country. The occasion concluded with the exchange of mementoes to mark the visit.
