ADC&CC AT SLAF STATION MIRIGAMA CELEBRATES 20TH ANNIVERSARY
The Air Defence Command and Control Centre (ADC&CC) at SLAF Station Mirigama commemorated its 20th anniversary today (01 July 2026). Established in 2006, the ADC&CC serves as the nerve centre of the National Air Defence Network, with the primary mandate of safeguarding the nation's airspace.
Since its inception, the ADC&CC has played a vital role in strengthening the nation's air defence capability through continuous operational excellence and technological advancement. The Centre has significantly enhanced its surveillance, command, and control capabilities over the past two decades, enabling it to effectively respond to the evolving demands of the national security environment.
To mark this significant milestone, a series of community service programmes was conducted with the active participation of squadron personnel. On 24 June 2026, a Shramadana campaign was carried out to clean the interior and exterior surroundings of the Maha Bodhi Children’s Home, during which essential items required by the children were also donated. On 25 June 2026, an Oral Health Awareness Programme was conducted for the students of Munidasa Kumarathunga Vidyalaya with the aim of promoting awareness of good oral hygiene and healthy dental practices among schoolchildren.
The anniversary celebrations culminated on 01 July 2026 with the customary working parade. The day's events concluded with a friendly cricket match held at the station sports ground, with the enthusiastic participation of all personnel.
