SLAF STATION MORAWEWA CELEBRATES 53RD ANNIVERSARY
SLAF Station Morawewa celebrated its 53rd Anniversary yesterday (28 July 2026) under the guidance of the Commanding Officer, Group Captain Nilendra Perera.
The anniversary celebrations commenced with a customary working parade held at the Station Parade Square, followed by a cricket tournament at the Station Sports Ground with the participation of station personnel.
As part of the anniversary programme, a blood donation campaign was conducted at the station premises on 21 July 2026 with the participation of service personnel, contributing to the National Blood Transfusion Service.
In keeping with the spirit of community service, a cleaning programme was carried out at Morawewa South Sinhala Vidyalaya on 24 July 2026. The anniversary celebrations concluded with a customary all-ranks lunch, bringing together officers, airmen and civil staff of the Station to mark the occasion.
