AERONAUTICAL ENGINEERING SUPPORT WING SLAF BASE RATMALANA CELEBRATES 17TH ANNIVERSARY
The Aeronautical Engineering Support Wing (ASW) celebrated its 17th Anniversary on 14th August 2026. The ASW was Established in 2009 at SLAF Base Ratmalana as a unique engineering formation in the SLAF with the primary vision of providing both Aeronautical and General Engineering service support to maintain the operational readiness of the SLAF aircraft fleet.
While assisting all flying formations in their Aeronautical Engineering requirements and General Engineering requirements in SLAF in every aspect, the Wing as also proven its capability in successfully conducting Research and Development projects related to Aeronautical and General Engineering fields in the recent past which has enabled the SLAF to save the foreign currency to the country.

The anniversary celebration held on 14th August 2026 with a customary working parade which was reviewed by the Commanding Officer of Aeronautical Engineering Support Wing, Group Caption RMLGML Rajasingha followed by a friendly cricket tournament among all Wing personnel at the Base sports ground. In parallel to the celebration, a beach cleanup was conducted on 11th August 2026 along the Panadura coastline as a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme.
