The “9th Inter Unit Golf Championship 2026” of the Sri Lanka Air Force concluded successfully at the Eagles’ Heritage Golf Course, SLAF Base Anuradhapura, following three days of keenly contested golfing from 09 to 11 September 2026.

The Awards Ceremony was held on 11 September 2026 and was graced by the Director General Welfare, Air Vice Marshal Rajinth Jayawardena, as the Chief Guest. The occasion was also attended by the Director General Air Operations, Air Vice Marshal Dammika Dias, senior officers, distinguished guests and participating golfers.

The championship brought together 71 golfers, including eight lady golfers, representing SLAF establishments across the island. The competition was conducted under the Gross Scoring System, comprising 18-hole rounds of competitive play.
Following a closely contested championship, SLAF Base Ratmalana emerged as the Overall Champions, securing a total of 68 points. SLAF Base Katunayake secured the Runners-up position with 53 points, while Regiment Wing, SLAF Base Katunayake, secured Third Place with 52 points.

In addition to the Inter Unit Championship, several individual and special categories were conducted, providing participants with opportunities to demonstrate their golfing skills and competitive excellence. The following golfers were recognized for their outstanding performances:

The championship showcased a high standard of golfing talent, determination and sportsmanship among the participating golfers. Beyond the competitive aspect, the tournament provided an excellent platform to foster camaraderie, fellowship and esprit de corps among members of the Sri Lanka Air Force.
The 9th Inter Unit Golf Championship 2026 concluded on a high note with the presentation of trophies and awards to the winners and outstanding performers, marking another successful chapter in the continued development and promotion of golf within the Sri Lanka Air Force.
