COMMANDER’S INSPECTION AT SLAF STATION PIDURUTHALAGALA
The Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal Bandu Edirisinghe, conducted the Commander’s Inspection at Sri Lanka Air Force Station Piduruthalagala today (19 September 2026).
Upon arrival, the Commander was warmly received by the Acting Commanding Officer, Squadron Leader Asanka Bopitiya, and accorded a ceremonial Street Lining. During the inspection, a Certificate of Commendation was awarded to Civilian Employee KC Morgan (Work Aide III) in recognition of his meritorious contribution to the Station and the Sri Lanka Air Force as a whole.
The Commander subsequently visited several key areas of the Station, including the Station Headquarters, newly constructed SWO’s Office, No. 7 Air Defence Radar Squadron (ADRS), newly established Duty Crew Rest Room at No. 7 ADRS, Armament Section, No. 302 Regiment Squadron, Equipment Section, Electronic Section, Sports Section, SNCOs’ and Airmen’s Messes, Civilian Billet, Works Section, Intelligence Section, Catering Supply Section, MI Room, Welfare Shop, Fire Section, Combat Stores, MT Section, Café De 8200 and Officers’ Mess.
In his concluding address to the Officers, Other Ranks and Civilian personnel, the Commander expressed his sincere appreciation to the Acting Commanding Officer and his team for their unwavering dedication and hard work. He further commended their commitment to upholding discipline, professionalism and the high standards maintained at the Station.
The Commander emphasized that such dedication and commitment play a vital role in strengthening the reputation of the Sri Lanka Air Force while contributing meaningfully to the progress and development of the nation.
