SLAF BAKERY AT GUWANPURA ENHANCED WITH NEW EQUIPMENT

The Sri Lanka Air Force Bakery at Guwanpura was further enhanced with the provision of a new bread-cutting machine and a dough machine, valued at approximately Rs. 1 million, funded by the Sri Lanka Air Force Seva Vanitha Unit Fund. The equipment was formally handed over on 01 October 2026.

The machines were handed over by the Chairperson of the Sri Lanka Air Force Seva Vanitha Unit, Mrs Krishanthi Edirisinghe, and received by the Commanding Officer, Sri Lanka Air Force Station Sri Jayawardenapura, Air Commodore Buddhika Piyasiri.

In parallel with the provision of new equipment, an extension to the bakery building was also completed under the guidance of the Commanding Officer, further improving the facilities and working environment of the bakery.

The occasion was attended by Officers and other personnel of Sri Lanka Air Force Station Sri Jayawardenapura, together with Officers of the Sri Lanka Air Force Seva Vanitha Unit.
