REGIMENT SPECIAL FORCE CONDUCTS NO 72 QUICK REACTION TEAM (QRT) TRAINING FOR FOREIGN AND REGIMENT PERSONNEL
The Regiment Special Forces Training School (RSFTS) at SLAF Station Morawewa successfully conducted the No. 72 Quick Reaction Team Training Course from 07 September 2026 to 06 October 2026. The course comprised with 31 Ops Grd personnel, including one Officer from the Sri Lanka Air Force and two foreign Officers from the Bangladesh Air Force. The Regiment Special Forces Training School is the prime training institute for specialized training related to Air Base Defence, Special Operations and Search and Rescue Operations.
Quick Reaction Team Training is designed to achieve professionalism concerning physical training, endurance training, advanced weapon training with live firing exercises, military tactics including real-time situational exercises in support of Air Base defence mechanisms. Further, land navigation, GPS handling and map march provided valuable exposure for the trainees to support effectively during Disaster Response (HADR) Operations. The trainees were educated and practiced real-time situational exercises related to Internal Security situations conducted during the course.
The course was constantly facilitated under the guidance of Group Captain NP Perera, the Commanding Officer of SLAF Station Morawewa. The closing ceremony was graced by the Acting Commanding Officer of Regiment Special Forces, Sqn Ldr Shakkya Bandara, who presented as the Chief Guest. Certificates were awarded to the trainees who successfully completed the training including two foreign Officers from the Bangladesh, Air Force.
