SLAF offered “Gilampasa Poojawa” on 22nd October 2011 and “Amuthu Muluthan Poojawa” and “Dahawal Danaya”on 23rd October 2011 for 60 Monks together with “Atapirikara” as a part of continued celebrations commemorating the 60th anniversary year.

Parallel to the above events the “Mal Pahan Poojawa” also took place.  The Chief of Staff of the SLAF Air Vice Marshal KA Gunathilaka representing the Commander of the Air Force. Director Air Operations, Air Vice Marshal GP Bulathsinhala, Director Ground Operations, Air Vice Marshal  AM De Zoysa, Director Training Air Vice Marshal K Yahampath, Director Welfare Air Vice Marshal WA Silva, Director Dental Services Air Vice Marshal  AMV Amunugama. Central Province Governor Tikiri Kobbekaduwa , Chief Custodian of the  Sri Dalada Maligawa, The Diyawadana Nilame, Pradeep Nilanga Dela Bandara were also present on the occasion.

The Service was also attended by Officers and a cross section of other ranks representing all Bases, Stations and Units as well as various trades of the Air Force.
