Wing Commander Suharshi Fernando, the Commanding Officer of Sri Lanka Air Force Unit Katukurunda declared open a Yoghurt Project on 24 October 2011.

It is intended to provide the product for servicemen and civilians at concessionary rates as a welfare measure and to outside sources in order to generate funds which would go to the SIF and be used to improve welfare of the service personnel at SLAF Unit Katukurunda.
