Annual Commander’s Inspection SLAF BIA 2011

The Commander of the Air Force Air Marshal Harsha Abeywickrama conducted the Annual Commander’s inspection of the Sri Lanka Air Force Unit, Bandaranaike International Air Port, Katunayake on 18 November 2011.
The Commander was welcomed by the Commanding officer SLAF unit BIA, Group Captain Peterson Fernando and a street lining was accorded at the Unit Headquarters.
During the course of inspection the Commander declared open the Unit Welfare shop and a new Gymnasium.
The Commander also inspected the Unit Headquarters, living in facilities of the airman at BIA and the ECO conference Hall.
On conclusion of the inspection the Commander addressed the Officers and men stressed the impotence of maintaining high standards of discipline, having a good relationship and rapport with other agencies in BIA.
Further the Commander reminded all of the need to deal with passengers very politely maintaining the good image of the Air Force.
Finally, Commander praised all ranks for the efforts taken to maintain the standards of the Air Force and encouraged them to continue with their good work.
