Sri Lanka Air Force Base Anuradhapura became the Inter Unit Athletic Champions of 2011 comfortably, scoring 239 points at SLAF Base Katunayaka.

SLAF Station Colombo and SLAF Station Diyatalawa secured the 2nd and 3rd places respectively scoring 217 and 193 points.

Officer Cadet Koswatta DMC of SLAF Station Diyatalawa and Corporal Dinesha AAD of SLAF Station Colombo won the best athlete’s awards for men and women respectively.

Military Liasion Officer  Ministry of Defence and Urban Development & President of the Athletic Association of Sri Lanka Major General Palitha Fernando graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. The Base Commander SLAF Base Katunayaka Air Commodore Ranil Gurusinghe, Chairman of Sri Lanka Air Force Athletic Association  Air Commodore Ajith Abesekara, Commanding Officer SLAF Station Ekala Group Captain LD Gunawardana, Commanding Officer S&MD Prasanna Jayawardana were amongst the large gathering of officers and airmen and women who attended the event  .
