A Delegation of Chinese Military Officials headed by General Ma Xiaotian, Deputy Chief of General Staff of the People's Liberation Army (PLA) of the People’s Republic of China called on the Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal Harsha Abeywickrama, last morning (13th December 2011). General Ma is from the PLA Air Force.  

The delegation which comprised of six very senior Chinese Military Officers was accompanied by the Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China in Sri Lanka, Her Excellency Yang Xiuping and the Political Attaché of the Embassy, Mr. Jin Wei.

The Commander had a discussion with the delegation on matters of mutual interest and conveyed the Sri Lanka Air Force’s sincere appreciation on the extensive assistance extended  by the People’s Republic of China and the PLA Air Force to the  SLAF in the hour of need. The duo also shared views on opportunities and possibilities available for similar collaboration in the years to come.

Mementos and gifts were exchanged between General Ma and the Commander of the Sri Lanka Air Force to mark this memorable occasion.
