Air Force Fire Fighters at Task

The Air force fire fighters were called upon for assistance during the early hours of the day (04 October 2009) when a grocery shop in Daraga Town,Ambalangoda caught fire during the early hours of the day(04 October 2009).

 The Ambalangoda Police station had informed SLAF Station Katukurunda, at around 0510hrs regarding the fire and the fire fighters were reached the location within no time with the hope of minimizing the damage that could be caused.

 When inquired by airforce.lk, Squadron Leader Chinthaka Herath, Commanding Officer of Sri Lanka Air force Katukurunda stated that the troops managed to put off the fire within a short period of time and the situation was normal.

Sri Lanka Air Force stands as the sole gallant aerial force in the nation, skillfully projecting airpower over its airspace and supporting the operations of surface entities.
