The Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal HD Abeywickrama addressed a cross section of commissioned officers, other ranks and civilians this morning (02 January 2012) at Air Force Head Quarters premises.

In his message the Commander commended the hard work put in by each and every person in the organization towards success in the previous year and emphasized the need to corporate further and build upon progress achieved in the coming year.

A multi religious ceremony was also held to invoke blessings on the SLAF and it's personnel. Similar occasions to mark the New Year were held throughout Air Force Establishments Island wide.
