over the Command of Sri Lanka Air Force Base Hingurakgoda to Group
Captain Sagara Kotakadeniya RWP,RSP,USP,MSc(Def.Strat.Stu.),psc on 10th
August 2010.
Group captain Kapila Wanigasuriya served as the Commanding Officer of this important Air Force Base which is the home of the No09 Attack Helicopter Squadron flying, Mi24 and the No 07 Helicopter Squadron flying Bell212’s and Bell 206 Jet Rangers, from 16th January 2008 to 10th August 2010 and had initiated many projects to enhance the efficiency of the station and the living standards of personnel serving there, during his tenure.
Group Captain Sagara Kotakadeniya returned after the successful completion National Defence College Course in China. Prior to proceeding to China he commanded SLAF Base, SLAF Base Anuradhapura.
The traditional "handing over taking over" parade was commanded by Wing Commander Suresh Perera.
