OPENING ADDRESS OF NO 77 JUNIOR COMMAND & STAFF COURSE

The No. 77 Junior Command and Staff Course was formally inaugurated on 02 September 2024 at the Junior Command and Staff College, Sri Lanka Air Force Academy China Bay. The opening ceremony was led by the Commanding Officer, Group Captain VRS Vidanapathirana RSP and Bar, MSc (Def & Strat Stu), BSc (Def Stu), Pg Dip (Def Mgt), psc who delivered the keynote address.

 He was accompanied by the Chief Instructor, Senior Instructor and other esteemed faculty members who provided insights and set the tone for the course ahead. This distinguished course comprises 28 Officers from the Sri Lanka Air Force in the ranks of Squadron Leader and Flight Lieutenant, along with one Lieutenant from the Sri Lanka Navy.
 
The program is further enriched by the participation of an Officer from the Indian Air Force in the rank of Squadron Leader and a Captain from the Zambian Air Force, reflecting the course's international reach and collaborative spirit. Over the next 14 weeks, these Student Officers will undergo an intensive academic training programme, meticulously designed to cultivate the leadership and strategic skills essential for their roles. The program commenced with an introductory module on Public Speaking which is a vital component aimed at refining the Officers' communication skills as a cornerstone of effective leadership.

 The commencement of the No. 77 Junior Command and Staff Course marks a significant step in the professional journey of these officers, equipping them with the advanced knowledge and leadership capabilities necessary to excel in their military careers.
