The SLAF Equipped to Maintain its Radars

A newly established Radar Maintenance Wing was visited by the Commander of the Air Force during his annual visit to Sri Lanka Air Force Base Katunayake recently. A separate location for radar maintenance was an outstanding issue since the country strengthened its air defence network with modern state of the art technology radars. The Radar Maintenance Wing will function under the Directorate of Electronics presently which is led by Air Commodore Rohan Pathirage (B.Sc(Eng), C.Eng, MIE (SL)). Earlier the SLAF had to depend on outside sources to repair and maintain their radars which resulted in the wastage of finances as well as time.
